IRVING, TX Oct. 9, 2007 – Akili, a Texas-based technology consultancy and systems integration firm, has named Alan Boyer as principal consultant, responsible for overseeing client projects, ensuring customer satisfaction and defining best practices.
Boyer brings to Akili strong IT experience from both the consulting and corporate client sides of the business. Boyer previously was with Akili from 1994 to 2001 when it grew from 5 to over 200 employees. After his first stint at Akili, he joined the corporate IT department of Home Interiors and Gifts, Inc., rising eventually to chief information officer and then senior vice president.
Dallas-based Home Interiors & Gifts is a wholesale distributor of home decorative accessories and gifts. Home Interiors sells their products to independent sales agents called Decorating Consultants. The company has over 100,000 independent consultants selling the company’s products in the USA, Mexico and Canada. The company had 2006 revenue of more than $500 million.
Shiek Shah, co-CEO and co-founder of Akili, said Boyer’s experience as both a consultant and corporate IT executive will strengthen Akili’s ability to serve companies in a broad range of industries.
